FINAL THRILLER IDEA

Finally, Finally, Finally This is our final idea!! I know I have so many blog called “New thriller idea” but this is our last one the coolest one of all our thriller idea and here we go I will explain to you what it is.

Our thriller first came from the talk with Phil and Matt the other day. From that talk we come up with many ideas but the one that we really like is about the “New world” may be about 10-20 years in the future when something in the world becomes different. This is the mind map of our ideas.

Then we looking at what’s going on in the world and Anna found this interesting news of Antibiotic resistance.

So we start to think that what’s going to happen when human becomes very weak and therefore human life depends on antibiotics and pills. What if these pill becomes less and less effective and the supply of medicine becomes limited, this world going to be in chaos!!

So we look at the opening sequence of the movie “Children of the men”

We can see that in this title sequence they use the news to set up background of the story. In the last scene after the explotion there is a picture of women holding her own arm casually. This is shocking but effectively portrays a picture of the future world.

Now we know where we are going at last!!! I believe that we going to make this thriller great

New Idea again!

We has been looking at the news lately and we come up with couple of idea for our thriller.
One of them is about over load population of the world as the world reach number of 7 billion people. From this we think that what if the food run out. This bring us to our idea!

The story will be about the family who try to survive during the time that food running out. The government also want to reduce population so they try to get rid of people.

This is the storyboard

We also look at other ideas as well such as kidnapping. What we are doing so far is to generate as much idea as possible from the news so we can pick the best one.

I really hope our thriller going well and hopefully we can pick our final idea soon. : )

New Thriller idea

Today in the lesson we were brainstorming again to find the perfect idea for our thriller. This time we used news and existing thriller to brainstorm. One of the idea we really interested in is bank heist. We are really inspired by the thriller Reservoir Dog and Strange Day.

We came up with the idea of bank heist. Briefly this is the whole story.....
5 men rob the bank together then one of them run away with the money, hide it somewhere and died. Four men that left have to fight and find the money.

The character will be 5 different men with different experties working together

What will happen in the title sequence is the montage of 5 characters carrying their individual task in the heist.

It will start off with computer screen with computer language then turn around and meet the first character the computer guy.

The scene then change to another big tough man cleaning his gun.

Then it will change into another guy putting a cup off coffee on the blueprint of the building with all the marks on.

The scene cut to another guy in car parking

Then the scene cut to the last guy preparing an empty bag to put money in. The title shows inside the bag then the bag close.

Our idea also inspired by title sequence of Snatch as well

What we like about snatch is the style of editing. What we want to do is to do a slow motion during introducing each character, I think it going to be awesome!

Thriller Ideas

In the lesson today, we watched the title sequence of Momento and we really like it.

We like the way this title sequence confuses the audience's mind by reversing the shot. This gives us an idea to makes our similar to this by visually confusing the audience and then slowly reveal the story slowly for example the scene could start with extra close up of the section of something and then slowly zoom out to reveal the prop, the location and the character. The idea of visually confuse the audience really interest me and I think it will apply well with our thriller.
